Jeanette Bush Smith was born in Augusta, Georgia. She was the third oldest of ten children born to Alphonso and Dorothy Johnson.

Jeanette Smith was granted her angel wings on July 23, 2019. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Jeanette had touched everyone she met in some small way throughout her very memorable life. She was a loving, kind person and would do anything to help others.

Jeanette graduated from Lucy Craft Laney High School – Class of 1959. She met the love of her life, Charles Smith, and they were married on August 19, 1964. They returned to Charles’ hometown of Chicago, Illinois and remained there until Charles’ death. Jeanette returned to Augusta, Georgia until her passing.
