Deacon Johnnie Thomas Butler, Sr., affectionately known to many as “J. T.” entered into rest on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at his residence. Johnnie was born on May 5, 1939, in Richmond County, Georgia, to Ida M. Butler Jennings.

At an early age, he dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized at the Sharon Baptist Church. He served on the Trustee Ministry as Treasurer, Deacon Ministry, and served as Campus Superintendent, where he opened and closed the church.
