Mildred Wright Martin, the daughter of the late Emanuel and Mary Ella Kitchens Wright, was born on September 1, 1950, in Augusta, Georgia.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Beulah Grove Baptist Church under the late Reverend B. I. Vernon. She followed in her father’s footsteps and became a member of the Usher Board.
