James Author Rahney was born on October 1, 1947, to the late George Frank Rahney, Sr. and Lottie Mae Bacon. He departed this life on June 30, 2019.

He was educated through the Burke County School Systems. At an early, he joined the Beechwood Baptist Church. He was a dedicated worker for Boral Brick for over 45 years.
